FAQs about joining the Concord Singers

Do I have to speak German?

No.  Most of us don’t speak German (or speak very little).  You will learn how to pronounce the words and go through a translation of each song so you know what you’re singing.

Do I need to know how to read music?

Any basic music knowledge is helpful. But if you can carry a tune, we can fit you in.

Do you only do “oom-pah” music?

No.  We do very little music like that.  We sing “Festive German Music” and have a lot of fun doing it!

Requirements to join the group:

Be well-groomed and presentable.

Be able to walk on stage under one’s own power.

Attend 60% of practices and performances.

Have the ability to sing and have fun!

Complete an application, attend 3 practices within a 4-week span, and have a successful audition!
